Penny Barron
Adv.Dip.Hom. B.Sc. D.R.M
There is more to the immune system than we realize. There
is the common belief that the body’s defence system consists
of a few different types of white cells floating around the
bloodstream. A homeopath, however, sees a person’s ability to
deal with the surrounding environment as functioning on all
levels, a cooperation of the physical body, emotions and mind.
Often one or all of these aspects of our health may be out of
balance, whether due to the stresses in our lives, our
naturally occurring tendencies, or a mixture of both. A well
chosen remedy combined with the support provided by regular
homeopathic consultations can be extremely effective in
helping to gently and naturally return the self to a state of
wellbeing.
Penny Barron is a classical homeopath with an interest in the
connections between the state of our body, thoughts and
feelings. Being a mother herself, Penny has a passion for the
care of mothers and children, particularly fertility management,
post natal issues and childhood anxiety. The aim is to
strengthen the whole person on all levels to allow the body/mind
complex to effectively function despite stress from the outside
environment, as well as to discover new ways to deal with or
reduce existing sources of stress in our lifestyle.
Penny offers a fresh approach to practicing, combining modern
developments in the homeopathic field with the classic tried and
true methods. Penny focuses on the various levels of emotional
links to every day complaints, especially those that keep
recurring in the same pattern. Often these have an underlying
cause at a much deeper level, which can be resolved if it is
possible to go within and discover what it is that motivates the
self to react to a particular situation. Penny has a keen
interest in aiding people to discover for themselves the
solutions to the difficulties in their lives, and strongly
believes that this approach can be used as a catalyst to bring
about true wellbeing on all levels.

Lorraine Ellison
Dip.Hom.Med. AHA
We all vary in our ability to adapt to, and cope with
stress. Stress can be divided into 2 main categories, healthy
stress and unhealthy stress. Healthy stress pushes you to
perform better e.g. gaining that little extra from your body
in a race. Unhealthy stress brings you near to overloading -
you make mistakes...you fall ill.
The body operates as a unit, with the physical, emotional,
mental and spiritual working together to maintain balance.
Your symptoms, the signs or indications of your being ill -
are an expression of need and a call for help from your body on
any of these levels.
A homeopathic prescriber is a symptom sleuth!
The homeopathic medicine prescribed can be equally effective
when dealing with chronic conditions e.g. menopause,
arthritis, anxiety and depression, as with more acute conditions
such as 'flu', morning sickness, also falls, stings, burns,
hangovers, digestive upsets etc etc.
Homeopathy works beautifully with children. Help is at hand
for night terrors, behavioural difficulties, colic and much
more.
Being the mother of young adults and a teenager, Lorraine has
developed an extensive and sensible understanding in this area.
Lorraine initially worked in pathology, studying part time for a
New Zealand Certificate of Science.
Lorraine also has a long standing interest in the
psychological connections to disease, especially depression,
behaviour and major life transitions. She brings a steady
quietness to the consultation, making it easy for the client to
talk and their story unfold. This is an integral part of the
visit to the homeopath, allowing a thorough understanding of the
client, and the issues - physical and emotional - to develop.

Kim Powell
Dip.Hom. Dip.Botanical Medicine Hom.Post Grad. Studies
Kim first became interested in natural therapies when her
younger brother, who had asthma, was on constant medication.
Being disenchanted with his treatment she studied Naturopathy
graduating in 1989. Her study in Homeopathy led to a Post
Graduate course. Much of her current interest is in Asthma,
and the anxiety it brings for the whole family. In general
Kim’s practice includes treatment of the many different types
of anxiety that go hand in hand with menopause, headaches,
migraine and sleep issues. She has found that other problems
such as RSI and tenosynovitis can be effectively relieved
using homeopathic treatment along with bodywork. Kim is happy
to work along side your chiropractor or osteopath.
Kim has seen some amazing results with homeopathy and her
patients enjoy her quirky sense of humour, her friendly attitude
and good listening ability. She feels homeopathy often surpasses
other forms of treatment being a subtle yet powerful method of
healing.
